Riverwalk is a luxury condominium that houses postdoctoral associates and their family members. The 16-story building is located on Roosevelt Island, which is a subway or tram ride across the East River from our main campus. Accommodations include unfurnished studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments with full kitchens and baths.
Furnishings: None. Residents must provide their own furniture. Each unit is fully equipped with standard kitchen appliances.
Utilities: Water and heat are included in your monthly license fee, but you are responsible for gas and electric. You must set up your account with Con Edison—NYC’s gas and electric provider— prior to moving in. You can also contact a local cable provider for cable TV and internet service.
Air Conditioning: HVAC units in each room.
Pets: Pets are permitted, but prior approval is required and a fee may apply. For more details, incoming residents can contact Housing, while current residents can speak with building staff at the concierge desk.
Riverwalk is primarily a postdoctoral associate building. Current residents who are promoted to a faculty title (Instructor or above) at Weill Cornell Medicine are required to vacate Riverwalk. Those who wish to remain in WCM Housing may have the option to relocate to Sutton Terrace, but placement is not guaranteed. Higher faculty rates are charged for any period during which a resident is permitted to remain in their Riverwalk apartment. Please refer to Postdoctoral Associate Housing Policy for details on housing eligibility and tenancy limits.
