First-year medical students in WCM housing are assigned to Olin Hall, which is across the street from our main campus. First-year PhD students may be assigned to Olin Hall or Memorial Sloan Kettering residences.
After the first year, Olin Hall residents move to other Weill Cornell buildings. Housing reassignments are typically determined by a lottery, which takes place in the spring of every academic year. You can submit an application indicating your preferred building, apartment type, and the names of fellow students they would like to live with, if applicable.
Students are placed based on their position in the lottery and apartment availability. Moves are typically scheduled before the start of the following academic year. We strive to meet as many students’ preferences as possible, but we are unable to accommodate every request.
If you are a current student, you’ll receive an email from us every spring with details about the lottery application and your housing options.
Disability Accommodations
The Weill Cornell Medical College’s (which includes the Medical College and Graduate School of Medical Sciences) Disability Services are dedicated to providing equal educational opportunities for students with disabilities. Federal law states that no qualified student will be excluded, denied participation or subjected to discrimination from any program or activity.
For more information, please review the disability accommodation request guidelines. Please do not submit any medical or other documentation regarding a disability to the Housing Office.
